Kathmandu valley mountain bike tour offer one of the most energetic, colorful, chaotic and cultural experience. The magical kingdom of Nepal has got to be a mountain biker’s paradise. Whilst many of the more popular trekking areas may prove to be too extreme for really enjoyable mountain-biking, this tour may just be the answer. Kathmandu, at 1350 meters in altitude, lies in a valley surrounded by hills that rise to 2780 meters. These are part of the middle hills of the Himalayas, the ‘foothills’ of the 8,000 meter white peaks. From the city, you set off on a 5-day tour of these ridge-top trails which encircle the valley rim. A short bike ride away from down-town Kathmandu lays a delightful world of wooded slopes, small villages and hidden temples. You ride jeep trails and ancient single-tracks against the most spectacular backdrop of Himalayan peaks.

Accomodation

We will be staying at standard hotel in Nagarkot and Dhulikhel and home stay basis during the tour. All rooms are on twin-shared basis. Single bedroom will be arranged on request and will cost additional. Utmost Adventure will arrange rooms with attached washrooms; however, home stay at most places only have shared washing and toilet facilities.

Meals

All meals will be provided during biking tour including tea, coffee. There will also be welcome and farewell dinners taking place for guests. While on trek, we have breakfast and dinner in the camp where we spend the night and lunch on our way to next destination. Authentic Nepalese, Tibetan, continental meals are common choices in the menu.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Kathmandu Valley Mountain biking tour is a Easy biking tour. Biker who can ride up to 5-6 hours a day on an uphill and downhill trail, exposed single track will consider this trip fulfilling and enjoyable. It is a good idea to prepare for the tour by jogging and biking regularly at least for a month prior to the start. Mountain biking to the Kathmandu Valley should be relatively easy for those who have experience in biking in single track in mountainous region. Determination, good physical health, positive attitude and average physical fitness are good preconditions for a successful accomplishment of the tour. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Utmost Adventure before booking the tour.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for biking to Kathmandu Valley is during spring (March to May) and autumn (August to December). The temperature is moderate and guarantees amazing views throughout the trip.
