Annapurna Base Camp trek is an amazing walk through diverse landscape and interesting culture sites with rich mountain vistas, terraced fields, quaint Gurung villages and a wide variety of flora and fauna. Mt. Annapurna (8091m) of Nepal is the 10th highest mountain in the world and the journey to its base camp, which is at 4130m/13549ft height, is one of the most popular walks on earth. We will reach our destination via Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail), which is revered by the Nepalese for its unique beauty. Furthermore, thanks to the well groomed itinerary of the Annapurna Base Camp trekking package, it has become a popular choice among many and different outdoor enthusiasts, from the solo female travelers to hikers traveling in groups.

Our Annapurna Base Camp Trek has a short 11-day itinerary. The particular route is designed for those who wish to hike in a spectacular mountain but have only limited time. Travellers who wish to reach the Annapurna base camp in a more relaxed way can try a different route like the Annapurna Sanctuary Trek, which takes 14 days.

We will be staying at 3 star hotel in Kathmandu, and in tea-houses during the trek. All rooms are twin double-bedrooms. Single bedroom will be arranged on request and with additional cost. Utmost Adventure will arrange rooms with private bathrooms; however, tea-houses sometimes only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are easily available in Kathmandu and in trekking regions at lower elevation, but it might be difficult to find them at higher altitude.

In Kathmandu, breakfast will be available. There will also be a welcome and a farewell dinner organized for our guests. During the trekking, all meals will be provided: we will have breakfast and dinner in the tea-houses/lodges where we spend the night, whereas we will have lunch on our way to next destination. (On demand, we can arrange only breakfast during the trek and trekkers can order lunch and dinner individually from the tea-house menu). The menu will offer both authentic Nepalese, Tibetan, continental meals and Indian cuisine.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Annapurna Base Camp trek is a moderate trek. Travelers who can walk up to 5-6 hours a day on an uphill and downhill trail will consider this trip fulfilling and enjoyable. It is a good idea to prepare for the ABC trek by jogging and exercising regularly at least for a month prior to the start. Trekking to the Annapurna Base Camp should be relatively easy for those who have experience in walking/trekking in high altitudes. Determination, good physical health, positive attitude and average physical fitness are good preconditions for a successful accomplishment of the trek. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skills are required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Utmost Adventure before booking the trek.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for trekking to the Kanchanjunga Base Camp is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The temperature is moderate and guarantees amazing views throughout the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.
