Trip Introduction

Bhutan Tour, these short 4 and 5 days tours to Bhutan can be added on as a additional to Thailand, India and Nepal as flights to Bhutan, are available from Bangkok, Delhi and Kathmandu. These tours will focus on the Kingdoms western valleys of Paro and Thimpu with an optional day-hike to the Taksang Monastery also known as the Tiger’s Lair.

Outline Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival Paro airport and transfer to hotel. Visit Paro National Museu, Paro Dzong. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Thimpu. Morning hiketo the legendary Taktsang Monastery, visit Drukgyel Dzong and Dungtse Monastery. Overnight at hotel in Thimpu.

Day 03: Thimphu sightseeing: visit the Memorial Stupa, Changankha Monastery, Takins(national animal of Bhutan) zoo. Zilukha Nunnery, National Library, Folk & Heritage Museum, Traditional School of Arts and Craft, Indigenous Hospital, Textile Museum, Handicraft Emporium and the Hand-made Paper factory.Evening drive to Paro and enjoy Traditional Hot Stone Bath. Overnight hotel.

Accommodations

We will be staying at 2/3 star hotel in Kathmandu. Single bedroom will be arranged on request and will cost additional. Utmost Adventure will arrange rooms with attached washrooms in Bhutan, Standard basis we will provide two star standard rooms and deluxe basis we will provide 4 star basis accommodation in Bhutan.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Breakfast will be provided during the tour in Kathmandu (On demand, we can arrange lunch, dinner while you are in Kathmandu). There will also be welcome and farewell dinners taking place for guests. While on tour in Bhutan, we have breakfast and dinner in the hotel where we spend the night and lunch will be in local restaurant during the tour. Authentic Bhutanese, continental meals are common choices in the menu.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for cultural tour in Bhutan is during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November). The temperature is moderate and guarantees amazing views throughout the trip. Although this trek can be undertaken during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone.

One skin blister repair kit
Anti-diarrhea pills (Imodium) (one regular package)
Anti-headache medication (Aspirin or Ibuprofen) (one regular package)
One small bottle cough and/or cold medicine.
One course antibiotics for chest infection, available locally at chemist shop or pharmacy with no doctor’s prescription.

One small bottle anti-altitude sickness medication: Diamox (Acetylzolamide), available locally, for more about this medication, please contact us or your doctor
One small bottle of water purification tablets (needs to contain silver-ions AND chlorine) or a water filter or UV sterilizer.
