Trip Introduction

Rock climbing around Hattiban is best crag for all beginner to advance level climber. Around 20km far from heart of the city (drive 1hr). Start hiking with beautiful village under lush pine forest with incredible view of Buddhist monasteries and stunning view of hills around Kathmandu. Crossing village with short uphill walking around 30min gaining elevation of around 2000ft we reach at the spot named big crag. There are 13 route In this crag with grade of 5A-7A means from beginner level to professional climbers.

Outline Itinerary

Day trip: we start from Utmost Adventure office in Thamel at 7 Am, Schedule:

Duration: 8 hour (7am-4pm)

Departure time: 7 am from Kathmandu

Climbing hour: 09:30am-2:30pm (one hour lunch break)

We drive back to Kathmandu by 3:30 pm – one our way back it will take approximately 1:30 hr due to traffic.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Hattiban Rock climbing is a moderate climbing. Climbers who has basic knowledge of climbing gears or basic climbing skills will consider this trip fulfilling and enjoyable. Climbing in Hattiban should be relatively fine for those who have general knowledge of  experience in outdoor climbing. Determination, good physical health, positive attitude and average physical fitness are good preconditions for a successful accomplishment of the climbing. We also take beginners who wants to have great experience of outdoor climbing. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Utmost Adventure before booking the trip.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for climbing in Hattiban is from September to June.  Generally Mid June to Mid September is rainy season so may not be pleasant weather for outdoor climbing.
