As you bask in the grandeur of Potala palace, you bond with Tibetan culture and history. You can stroll along Barkhor markets to observe colorful mosaic of Tibetan arts, culture, custom, tradition, lifestyle and cuisine. Visits to Jokhang temple and Drepung Monastery further heighten your excitement and zest. In the towns of Gyantse and Shigatse you have an exclusive opportunity to explore monasteries and fully immerse yourselves in the Buddhist culture. On this tour, you are in for an experience of a lifetime.

Day 01: Kathmandu (1300m). Overnight at Hotel.
Day 02: Kathamandu Sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu (1300)-Kyirung Border (145km). Overnight at Guest House .
Day 04: Kyirong-Pekutso-Old Dingri (4300/230Km). Overnight at hotel.
Day 05: Old Dingri –Lhatse-Shigatse (3900m/300Km). Overnight at hotel.
Day 06: Shigatse-Gyangtse (3950Mts/90Km). Overnight at hotel.
Day 07: Gyangtse-Yamdrok lake-Lhasa (3650Mts/270Km). Overnight at hotel.
Day 08: Lhasa Full day Sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 09: Lhasa Full day Sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.

Accommodations

We will be staying at 2/3 star hotel in Kathmandu, and in tea-houses during the trek. All rooms are on twin-shared basis. Single bedroom will be arranged on request and will cost additional. Utmost Adventure will arrange rooms with attached washrooms in Tibet; however, guesthouse at some places only has shared washing and toilet facilities. Also note that single rooms are readily available in Kathmandu and in Tibet regions during the driving tour.

Meals

Breakfast will be provided during the tour (On demand, we can arrange lunch, dinner during the driving tour). There will also be welcome and farewell dinners taking place for guests. While on tour, we have breakfast and dinner in the guest house/hotel where we spend the night and lunch on our way to next destination. Authentic Tibetan, continental meals are common choices in the menu Tibet.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Tibet cultural tour is an easy tour. Travelers who can sit 5-6 hours a day on an uphill and downhill drive will consider this trip fulfilling and enjoyable. It is a good idea to prepare for the tour by jogging and exercising regularly at least for a month prior to the start. Touring in Tibet should be relatively easy for those who have experience in touring in high altitudes. Determination, good physical health, positive attitude and average physical fitness are good preconditions for a successful accomplishment of the tour. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung, and blood diseases should inform Utmost Adventure Trekking before booking the trek.

Best Time to Travel

The best time for Tibet cultural tour is during Autumn, Spring, Summer (February to December) and The temperature is moderate and guarantees amazing views throughout the trip.

Utmost Adventure has compiled a list of necessary equipment, personal medical supplies and symptoms of medical condition likely to face during trekking / peak climbing. Also, please do understand that items listed below should be considered as an essential summary.

Your document to travel to Nepal and Tibet:
Valid passport, 2 extra passport size photos, airline tickets

One skin blister repair kit
Anti-diarrhea pills (Imodium) (one regular package)

One course antibiotics for chest infection, available locally at chemist shop or pharmacy with no doctor’s prescription.

One small bottle anti-altitude sickness medication: Diamox (Acetylzolamide), available locally, for more about this medication, please contact us or your doctor

Extra prescription glasses/contact lens. Contact lens wearers, please bring glasses in case of emergency.
