Mardi Himal Trek (14 Days)


Mardi Himal Trekking is one of the eco-tourism based trekking destinations located in Annapurna Region. This trek offers the opportunity to escape Nepal’s tourist trails to venture in to the deep forests and roam the high alpine pastures that flank the Annapurna ranges. The trek leads you up to 4100m and offers superb mountain scenery including sacred mountain Machhapuchre (6988m), Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Mt. Annapurna II (7937m), Mt. Annapurna III (7555n), Mt. Hiunchuli (6441m), Mardi Himal Range.
Itinerary
Mardi Himal Trek short itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu (1400m). Overnight at hotel.
Day 02: Cultural sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.
Day 03: To Pokhara (850m.) by bus or flight / Overnight at hotel.
Day 04: Drive to Phedi & trek to Dhampus (1600m). Overnight at camp.
Day 05: Trek to Machhapuchre forest Camp. Overnight at camp.
Day 06: Trek to Low camp (2250m). Overnight at camp.
Day 07: Trek to high camp (4100m). Overnight at camp.
Day 09: Exploration day. Overnight at camp.
Day 10: Trek to Siding Village (1280m). Overnight at camp.
Day 11: Trek / drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.
Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu (flight to Kathmandu). Overnight at hotel.
Day 13: Free day in Kathmandu

Mardi Himal Trek detailed Itinerary:
Day 01: Kathmandu (1400m), Arrival and transfer to hotel/welcome dinner. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Cultural sightseeing. Overnight at hotel.
Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing Tour including Kathmandu Durbar Square, Patan Durbar Square, Monkey Temple, Pashupatinath Temple and Baudhanath Stupa.

Day 03: To Pokhara (850m.) by bus or flight / hotel
After morning breakfast drive/fly to Pokhara , half day sightseeing in Pokhara Valley(Phewa Lake, Barahi Temple, boating in Fewa Lake, Davis Falls, Gupteshwori Temple, ).

Day 04: Drive to Phedi & trek to Dhampus (1600m)
Drive from Pokhara to Phedi, it takes one hours by driving. The road is reasonably good. Then trek from Phedi to Pothana village Deurali (2150m). It takes 4 hours then overnight at camp.

Day 05:  Trek to Machhapuchre forest Camp
This is beautiful walk through forest. After morning breakfast we trek about 5 hours to reached Forest camp walking through Pothana village. Overnight at camp.

Day 06: Trek to Low camp (2250m)
As we climb there are natural windows in the woods that view out onto thrilling panoramas towards Hiunchuli Peak and the knife-sharp traverse towards Annapurna South. We have magnificent closer view of Fishtail and Annapurna Mountain range, Far below, to our left, we can see Modi Khola Valley leading up into the Annapurna Sanctuary. Overnight at camp.

Day 07: Trek to high camp (4100m)
After early breakfast we start trekking to reach our highest point of the trek. With clear weather the view today will never be forgotten. Overnight at camp.

Day 09: Exploration day
Climb at 5000/5300m and back to low camp (4100m), free day to explore around. Overnight at camp.

Day 10: Trek to Siding Village (1280m)
Today the trail descent about 1600m through the shade of the forest, and out onto terraced fields. Here, as we make our way along the banks of the Mardi Khola from the hill-side village of Siding, down through the lovely fields, past the simple farms and over the 'interesting' bridges, there is no doubting this is indeed the idyllic Nepali countryside. Overnight at camp.

Day 11: Trek / drive to Pokhara
After few hour walk we drive to Pokhara. Overnight at hotel.

Day 12: Drive to Kathmandu (flight to Kathmandu). Overnight at hotel.

Day 13: Free day in Kathmandu
Day 14: Departure.
