Jiri to Everest Base Camp Trek (29 Days)


This is one of the most popular areas of trekking in Nepal. The area has not only attraction of the spectacular landscapes, but also where the Mount Everest, its procession of peaks less and rich cultural heritage. The trek “Everest” starts with the Nepalese Hindus speaking in lowland and finishes highlands of Buddhism Tibetan where Sherpas are recognized. Area of  Everest is located in the North-East of Nepal. The most visited part of this area is district of Solukhumbu, the house of legendary Sherpas and more the high summit of the world, the MT. Everest with 8848 meters. In the north of l' Everest is Solokhumbu National park, while towards l' east is Makalu Barun National Park. The ethnic independent groups which live in the Everest area are sherpas, Rais, Tamangs, Brahmanes and Chhettris. Large range of fauna and the vegetation are observed in the area. Animals at sight are the goat of mountain, stag musk deer and the barkings of the stags in the forests. Birds included implying Pheasant (Danfe), corbels, the crows, cough and snow pigent. The best moment for visited is spring and autumn.

Day 01: Kathmandu
Pick up then Transfer to hotel and handle check in. Short briefing that afternoon followed by orientation walk. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Sight seeing
Around Kathmandu valley: The holy place of Pashupatinath temple, Shoyambhunath temple, Boudhanath Stupa & Kathmandu Darbar Square), arrange the necessary permit for Trekking and Climbing. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 03: Kathmandu to Jiri (1955m)
Early morning drive to Jiri. It takes 7 hrs by normal bus. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge.

Day 04: Jiri to Deorali (2710m)
Walking around 6 hrs. The walk starts to the ridge top at 2370m then drops down to Shivalaya 1750m. We stop here for the lunch and climb up to the Deurali. This day most of the trails cross through the village and the cultivate area. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge / camp.

Day 05: Deorali to Sete (2580m)
6 hrs walking distance we reached to the Sete. Same like yesterday we cross through the local village and the walks starts drops down to the Kinja (1630m) then climb up to Sete through the mix rhododendron forest. Settlement of Sherpa people. Overnight at Teahouse lodge / camp.

Day 06: Sete to Junbesi (2670m)
Almost 6 – 7 hrs walking distance. Long and gradual climb to the Lamjura Bhanjyang at 3530m (Highest point between Jiri to Namche Bazaar) then you descends to Tragbuk at 2860 and preety Sherpa village to Junbensi. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge / camp.

Day 07: Junbesi to Nuntala (2330m)
5-6 hrs walking distance. The trails climb to Salung at 2980m, where for the first view of Mt. Everest (8848m) then gradual walk to Ringmo Khola (2570m) and climb up to Sherpa village Taksindhu (3071m) then descend to the Nuntala through the mix forest. Overnight at Teahouse lodge / camp.

Day 08: Nuntala to Bupsa (2360m)
5-6 hrs walking distance. The trails descend to the Dudh Kosi at 1490m and Climb up to Kharikola (2070m) then steep climb up to Bupsa. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge / camp.

Day 09: Bupsa to Surke (2290m) / Chablung (2660m)
5-6 hrs walking distance. The trails climb gradually offering the views of Dudh Koshi below 1000m. After get to Puiyan (2730m) then drops down to Surkhe. The trails continue to climb throught Mushe and Chaurikharka then Chablung. Overnight at Teahouse Lodge / camp.

Day 10: Surke to Manjo (2840m)
Walking around 5 hrs. It is quite easy walk along the Dudh Koshi. Overnight at Teahouse lodge / camp.

Day 11: Manjo to Namche (3440m)
Early wake-up today because this is a big push.  First part is pretty easy.  Today is a higher altitude day so slow and steady will work best.  You can see Mount Everest (Chomo-lungma) from the new style bridge crossing at Dudh Koshi .Keep walking up to Nauje (Namche Bazaar).  We will have nice hot snacks in Nauje which has many Sherpa shops, lodges, and restaurants.  Nauje (Sherpa name for Namche Bazaar) is a fun place for both Sherpas and trekkers to enjoy. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 12: Namche Bazaar (3450m)  
Acclimatization day which gives us time for a sightseeing tour or an excursion towards the village of Thame or Khumjung, which has fantastic views of Mt. Thamserku (6608 m), Ama-Dablam (6856 m), Mt. Lhotse (8510m), Mt. Everest (8848m), Mt. Nuptse (7861m), Island Peak (6189m), Tobuche (6367m) and many mountains. Overnight at lodge.

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3870m)
Walking about 5 hrs. Our journey starts to walk with sunshine great views of the Everest, Lhoste, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Steep descent towards a bridge over the Dudh Kosi at (3250m), which is deepest valley after Namche and Before Base Camp and then climb up a zigzagging path through rhododendron bushes. Some superb mountain sceneries towards Tengpoche, famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in Khumbu. Overnight at lodge.

Day 14: Tengboche to Dingboche (4389m)
Walking around 5 hrs. An easy descent through woods towards a suspension bridge over the Imja Khola river, then a steady climb up to Pheriche via Pangboche (3930m) that houses the most ancient monastery in the region and continue to Dingboche. Overnight at lodge.

Day 15: Acclimatization day
Explore to the Chhukung Village (4756m), great views of Lhotse, Island Peak, Kali himal. Overnight at lodge.

Day 16: Trek to Lobuche (4910m)
Walking about 5 hrs. The trail starts from the easy walk but is little bit difficult walk cause of high altitude. After 3 hrs walking distance, the trail starts to climb up to the Memorial Camp and continue to Lobuche. Visit to Italian Research Camp, views of many mountains including Nuptse, Pumori (7165m), Khumbu Ice Fall etc. Overnight at lodge / camp.

Day 17: Lobuche – EBC- Ghorakshep  (5190m)  
Walking in the Khumbu valley alongside of Khumbu Glacier and after Ghorakshep walking along the glacier or some time on glacier too. Hard catching breathes and spends some time at EBC than back to Ghorakshep. Overnight at teahouse lodge / camp.

Day 18: Gharak Shep – Kalaptthar (5550m) – Lobuche (4910m)  
Wake up early morning and walk up to Kalapatter for Sun rise Views of Everest, Nupse, Lohtse, Pumori just above and Khumbutse and beautiful views of Khumbu Glaciar and back down to Lodge and walk down to Lobuche. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 19: Lobuche - Zonglha (4830m)
Quite easy and short walk leads us to Zonglha, we do rest hole day to get ready to cross Chola-Pass next day. Overnight at teahouse lodge.  

Day 20: Dzonglha – Chola Pass – Thangnak (4700m)
Walking about 7-8 hours. This is quite long walk, we start early morning with pack lunch along the up hill and turn east with boulders and steep climbing up to pass. Pass always with ice, some time deep snow and than walk down to Thangnak. Overnight at tea house lodge.

Day 21: Thangnak – Gokyo (4790m)  
Just 2 hrs walking distance over the glacier take you to the Gokyo and explore around Gokyo Valley. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 22: Gokyo
This is the day for explore round the areas. Wake up early morning to hike up Gokyo ri (5483m) for 360 views including Everest and Makalu. Overnight at teahouse lodge.  

Day 23: Gokyo – Machhermo (4410m) or Dole
Walking about 5 hours. Now we take easy way to walk down from Gokyo to Machermo and to Dole with stunning views of Mt. Khangtega, Mt. Thamserku and Gokyo Valley. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 24: Dole – Namche Bazaar (3440m)  
Walking about 5 hours. After breakfast we descend down to the Phortse Thengnak through the beautiful Gokyo Valley, now we have to climb about 1 hour to the Mong-La, where we can see spectacular views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku and other mountains and easy walk to Namche Bazaar.. Overnight at teahouse lodge

Day 25: Namche – Phakding (2600 m) now trek back to Phakding. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 26: Phakding – Lukla (2800 m), about 3 hours walk will finishied our great journey to the highest mountain. Overnight at teahouse lodge.

Day 27: Kathmandu:  
Fly back to Kathmandu. Free day. Overnight at hotel.

Day 28: Fly back to Kathmandu.
Free day for shopping. Overnight at hotel.

Day 29: Departure
Drop to international airport for your next destination.
