Tibet, referred as the roof of the world, the forbidden land, the last Shangri-La, situated just north of the mighty Himalayas, Tibet has remained a hidden sanctuary to the western world for many years, it has opened its doors for tourism in the mid 1980s. Tibetan plateau covering 1.23 million sq km is linked to the south by the 2500km long Himalayas and to the west by the Karakoram. With an average height of 4,000 meters above sea level, Tibet encompasses some of the world's highest mountains. Mt. Great explorers and adventures of the century have ventured into this holy land rendered inaccessible by the hostile natural conditions and bandits that waylaid them across through the Himalayas. This remote land, of rich culture, wide open spaces, and intricately decorated monasteries, is dominated by the ancient holy city of Lhasa. An aura of magic and mystery awaits you, with majestic views of the spectacular Himalayas, including Mt Everest. Tibet's past grandeur, majesty, magic and mystery still remain undiminished. Boasts a unique from of Buddhism, not found anywhere else in the world. This unique land is now easily accessible from Kathmandu, and is a trip not to be missed in this lifetime. Best time to visit is April to November.
Our all treks and Mt. Kailash tours are fully catered by our qualified and experienced crew from Nepal and a professional English speaking Tibetan guide. Loads are usually carried by Yaks. A typical day begins with a hot cup of tea brought to the tent at about 6 am, followed by a bowl of hot water for washing. After packing our bags and having a good breakfast, we set off on the morning's walk. All you need to carry is a small daypack containing a water bottle, camera, sun cream, hat, rain-jacket and a warm jumper, just in case. The porters or yaks will carry everything else for you. After walking for 3-4 hours we stop for lunch at around midday. The afternoon's walk is generally shorter and we arrive at camp in time for a nice cup of tea. The remainder of the afternoon can be spent exploring the nearby villages, doing a bit of washing or simply relaxing with a good book. Dinner is usually served between 6 and 7pm and after dinner, the evening is often spent playing cards or talking with the crew – and sometimes there will even be some singing and dancing before heading off to the tent for a well-earned sleep.
